Version 2023 Patch 1
Version 2023 Patch 1 is an update of version 2023 and includes several updates and improvements to existing features, new and improved communication drivers and all hotfixes integrated in this release. Existing licenses of version 2023 will support this version.
Key functions
Summary of key new features:
- Improved support for scripting in tables
- Improvements to Audit Trail and Version Control features
- Post-Script function: Execution of a script after a call to the driver for further data processing.
- Communication Drivers:
- New InfluxDB driver for communicating with cloud-based InfluxDB databases
- Updated OPC UA drivers – Support for HTTPS communication
- VTSCADA historical alarm driver – support for VTSCADA 12 and later.
The main focus of the new version is the safety.
The management of Dream Report users and passwords has been completely reworked, introducing a new advanced security feature. Also, a lot of effort has gone into web security.
In addition to security, there are 5 other new features in the new version:
- Web clusters. This is a completely new concept: you can create clusters of reporting objects, obtain unique URLs and publish these clusters to external web applications!
- Significant improvements to electronic signature: now you can create workflows for electronically signed reports, manage user notifications and auto-fill reports.
- Enabling user authentication by report level – this feature significantly increases the usability and ease of managing large projects with a large number of reports (and users).
- Web client with dedicated user – the ability to dedicate the licensed web client to a specific username (for example, for top management) and ensure that access to the web portal is available to high-priority users.
- Ability to separate reports for PC-based and mobile-based web portal. This allows users to design specific reports for mobile devices and PCs.
In addition, several improvements have been made to improve usability and USER EXPERIENCE.

License
Please note that Dream Report 2023 requires a new license version 2023. All new licenses are released for the new 2023 version. All existing licenses, which have a valid maintenance and support contract, can be upgraded to the new version for free.
The new version of this very useful tool, Dream Report 2020 R2, improves collaboration, notification management and information sharing to enable users to make informed decisions based on production data.
They have also been significantly improved processing, analysis e data visualization, also taking into consideration the quality and quantity of industrial values.
The main functional features of the new version include:
- Automatic and manual notifications to the user in the web portal and by e-mail
- Value quality management – optional display of values with different qualities
- Advanced alarm analysis. Better compliance with the ISA 18.2 standard
- Drive support for communication drivers
- Extended audit trail logs (communication errors and others)
- SPC functionality extended in automatic statistical tables
- Integration with Eurotherm Data Reviewer
- New communication drivers are available (Rockwell PLC, reworked OPC UA)
ANSI / ISA 18.2 Alarm management
Some considerations and use of Dream Report
In 2009, a new standard called ISA 2016 was released by ANSI / ISA, and in 18.2 it was revised, for the management of alarms generated on automation and control systems of industrial machines and plants.
ISA 18.2 covers the management of alarm systems for the process industries.
Alarm management is a very big topic – we have all heard stories of operators becoming “addicted” to “alarm flooding”, “alarm chattering” or “alarm flares” often presenting too much information to handle properly and prioritization by an operator.
