The factory Gallo Glass produces over 100 different shape combinations, sizes and colors of the bottles.
In addition to being unique for its size-E. & J. Gallo Winery is one of California's largest wineries, and is also unique in having its own glass factory. Ernest and Julio Gallo built the plant in 1958 on the company's main campus in Modesto.
By owning a glass factory, the company reduces transportation costs for heavy glass, but more importantly, eliminates the possibility of production delays caused by external cylinder suppliers.
