Yesterday (Wednesday 1 March 2023) the GE Digital and ServiTecno Interactive Webinar entitled “Operational Efficiency and Sustainability: GE Digital's technological proposal for Water & Wastewater 5.0”.
Considering the importance of the aqueducts (also in consideration of the PNRR and the new European directives in the field of Safety for Critical Infrastructures) the aim was to present the general framework and introduce strategies and technologies for a safe and efficient digital transformation for the water distribution and disposal sectors.
To do this, we used an innovative virtual setting that we hope made the meeting more usable and easy to follow: we talked about Best Practices and Regulations (current and forthcoming) with our Mario Testino, then Bernard Cubizolles presented the GE Digital's view on the subject before concluding with the presentation of two case studies.

1 – ServiTecno and GE Digital in the Water World by Francesco Tieghi
In this short speech, Francesco Tieghi introduced the topic of the day by giving a brief summary of what ServiTecno and GE Digital can offer to System Integrators and Utilities in terms of technological proposal and support for Digital Transformation in the Water & Wastewater world.
2 – Safe Water and Cyber Security by Mario Testino
Our Chief Operating Officer has exposed Best Practices, Standards, Directives and Regulations in force (and coming soon) relating to Critical Infrastructure Utilities: from the most recent NIS2 (European Directive approved in 2022 which will have to be "grounded" in the form of a Regulation by October 2024), to the Machinery Directive up to the ISO 27000 and IEC 62443 standards.
He also proposed a self-assessment checklist based on our experiences: checks and verifications that you can do independently to start evaluating the level of security of your application remote control.
3 – From Water 4.0 to Water 5.0 by Bernard Cubizolles
with over 3.500 Utilities scattered throughout the world, GE Digital boasts an impressive installed base in the Water & Wastewater sector: but GE does not stop!

4 – Case Study: Viva Servizi
The aqueduct of Ancona and surroundings built by Artel with technological solutions proposed by ServiTecno is one of the flagships of our applications in the Telecontrol field: a project in constant evolution, an architecture consolidated over time which also makes it possible to experiment with new technologies, from HIGH PERFORMANCE EDGE COMPUTING to Machine Learning mechanisms.
