In this Atelier, some critical issues and related countermeasures will be illustrated in contexts where it is necessary to manage information and data from objects, machines, systems.

Starting from the use of OT/IoT/IIoT in everyday life, in the factory and in smart cities of the years to come: intelligent traffic lights that detect people without having to press the button to make them green or when connected cars arrive, irrigation of the green that stops when someone passes, of how in 5/10 years the 5G it will allow the creation of city service networks and how people with 5G cell phones will be integrated both in mobility and in other services in an increasingly simple and transparent way, mentioning some security and privacy problems inherent in these applications.

As for the impacts of OT/IoT/IIoT for Industry4.0, we will talk about the concept of Digital Twin o Digital Twin, i.e. the possibility of using the simulation by generating a "virtual object/system" in the Cloud that is a copy of an "object in the real world" for the purpose of improving system performance, controlling usage behaviour, predicting maintenance over time, improve the quality of the product and the performance of the object/system itself, with all the implications relating to the protection of information and connections in the Cloud.

The session sees the participation of:

  • Enzo M Tieghi, Del. Adm. ServiTecno, member of the Scientific Committee of CLUSIT
  • Lorenzo Ivaldi, professor at DITEN University of Genoa, member of the Scientific Committee of CLUSIT
  • Franco Callegati, professor at the Department of Computer Science: Science and Engineering (DIS), Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna
