Ease of use
Dream Report is a simple to use solution starting from the development environment, available in 14 languages, including Italian: even those who have no programming knowledge are able, after a short training, to exploit the full potential of this solution. Dream Report also makes extremely complex operations simple thanks to a Wizard that allows the automatic creation of reports starting from complex SQL queries against relational databases.
The reports generated are dynamic – that is, they allow you to view data that is always updated – and can also be accessed from a simple web browser, with the possibility of restricting access to the data and creating views dedicated to different categories of users.
The new release
The software comes this year to its version 5 R20-1: a release that improves and enriches the functionality of the platform.
Among the main novelties of Dream Report 5 R20-1, the creation of a drivers for OPC UA HDA that supports encryption and security certificates, the ability to use logarithmic scale for base-10 LOG-based plots, and a redesigned Report Data Server (RDS) engine to improve report generation. In addition, a new HDA (Historical Data Access) part has been added to the system driver which provides access to the historical values of the tags defined in the data models. Since the last release it is also possible to include a web page or external documents in the reports.
From the point of view of the communication drivers, the possibility of selecting tables has been implemented in the driver for FTView SQL HDA ITEM and then the time zone parameter has been added in the driver configuration for GE Historian.
The new release is supported by existing Dream Report version 5 licenses (no license upgrade is required) and is available to all active maintenance and support customers at no additional cost.
