All 11.30 in the Sala Arena do not miss our speech "IT/OT and information infrastructure convergence: what are the implications for cyber security?", speaker Mario Testino, COO of ServiTecno.
Introduction: In recent years we have been witnessing a trend in companies, motivated by undoubted managerial and economic reasons, which envisages the progressive adoption of increasingly convergent IT architectures and defined software. Recall that a (super/hyper) converged infrastructure brings together compute, network, storage and IT administration into a single, uniformly configurable platform. In a completely analogous and parallel way, network architectures and OT devices are naturally integrating into the corporate IT network perimeter, fully in charge (at least for the aspects of standardisation, maintenance and cyber security) by the CIOs and IT managers. The PLC and SCADA networks are integrated into the IT backbones and the SCADA servers are progressively abandoning the systems towards virtualised solutions residing in the corporate data centers. While on the one hand all these transformations lead to an undoubted simplification of IT operations, on the other they amplify cyber security problems especially in the OT environment. In this discussion we will try to analyze, with an operational eye, some of these cyber security aspects in an attempt to provide updated and applicable solutions in these new paradigms.
