The monitoring and management of pressure in water distribution networks in cities have become factors of increasingly evident importance. This is also what emerged in the recent meeting "Smart Water in the city of the future" held in Milan on 22 October 2015, which was attended as speakers by some of the leading European experts in the world of Integrated Water Services.

The international experts who published the European recommendation on "Good practices for the management of water losses" based on the document drawn up by the WFD CIS WG PoM, suggest the activities that must guide managers in the optimal management of their network.

Checking for the presence of pressure transients through the use of data-loggers with an adequate sampling frequency is one of the key points from which to start.

In this regard, ServiTecno offers an essential "all-in-one" tool that allows you to have in a single solution:

  • pressure transducer
  • data logger
  • transmission of data via GPRS to the control center for collection of data from the meshes of the network for aggregation and analysis of information to lead to the optimization of the management of the aqueduct system.

The instrument is also equipped with local I/Os for any other measures and/or actuators to implement management strategies by starting pumps, opening and closing valves or adjusting pressure reducers.

This is the Inventia MT723PT device, distributed and supported in Italy by ServiTecno.

SEE TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE MODULE MT 723PT

Inventia MT-723 PT is ideal for monitoring water points: it provides simultaneous flow and pressure measurement with leak detection. The availability of two additional analog inputs, five digital/counter inputs and two digital outputs provides temperature, humidity, pressure and stress measurements along with the detection of alarm conditions (such as well opening or flood), as well as control away from the valves. The module can optionally be equipped with a GPS receiver (for localization and possible time synchronization).

Featuring a long-lasting battery, this device is the answer for utilities requiring pressure measurements without the need for expensive converters, with IP68 rating for harsh environmental conditions. The built-in transmitter module enables pressure measurement in the range 0 … 10 bar with an accuracy of 0,5% (other measuring ranges are optionally available).
