This webinar aims to provide some tips to properly engage the new ACN determination and the basic requirements requested by the Agency. Provide.
From a first reading to the latest determination of the general manager of ACN, of April of this year, it would almost seem that the network architectures, devices and OT systems are outside the focus of the requirements present in this document. The Agency would seem to concentrate on organizational and procedural aspects to establish a management system primarily oriented to personnel and IT infrastructures within companies and organizations, little or nothing would highlight any focus on production or operational departments in general.
But are we sure that this is the correct interpretation?
In reality, ACN does not distinguish between departments, systems or network segments belonging to or managed by different departments, but sees the organization as a whole. The obligations concern the entire company without exceptions and the goal is not only data protection but, ultimately, the continuity of the production system.
Certainly the CIO is in the “eye of the storm” in the sense that, at this moment, he holds a good part of the helm regarding the application of the new directive in the company. But decisions must consider the entire company network, not just the most “visible” part. In practice, the much discussed IT-OT convergence should be a mature and consolidated process.
With this spirit, we want to analyze the requirements present in the annexes to the determination to better define the strategies and ultimately the possible investments that can be undertaken.
