Milan, 17/02/2020 – Also this year ServiTecno will participate in the Industrial Software Forum (February 18, Milan) with the latest news: in addition to the new ZTC Edge Computing, we move from the new 6.1 release of iFIX, the well-established HMI - SCADA solution by GE Digital, to Historian 8.0, the solution for collecting and archiving data which is proposed as the basis for the management of industrial information.

Spotlights also on the new architectures based on Edge Computing.

iFIX 6.1

GE Digital's new iFIX 6.1 enables operators to work smarter and business management to have real-time visibility of what happens in production.

the UX by BSD

Thanks to the features offered, iFIX allows you to reduce troubleshooting times by offering greater awareness of context, using high-performance HMI layouts and contextual navigation based on a structured model.

At the Forum Software Industriale ServiTecno will show the public for the first time a new one demo, developed by BSD specialists, which will show all the benefits of the new interface developed to maximize the user experience.

The new release of the well-established SCADA HMI solution offers better connectivity thanks to the native OPC UA driver and a new configuration browser-based HTML5 which allows you to configure servers, groups, tags, data sources, select a set of tags and automatically populate the iFIX database.

La navigation that adapts to the context allows the operator to more easily find pertinent and already "filtered" information. To help designers create the right user experience, iFIX 6.1 offers predefined objects and templates designed to ensure maximum performance.

Ready-to-use layouts are also available. The user interface HTML5 produced with iFIX 6.1 is responsive, i.e. able to adapt to the device with which the screen is accessed. Screens support multi-touch interactions and can be scaled to fit different screen sizes.

iFIX is safe “by-design” because it uses open and secure standards such as OPC UA, digital certificates and web tokens, for communication with clients, allowing HMI to be implemented in complete safety.

Historian 8.0

Proficy Historian is the software solution for historicization of industrial data developed by Ge Digital which collects industrial time series and ultra-high alarm data speed, efficiently and securely stores them, distributes them, and enables rapid retrieval and analysis, helping to increase business value. The latest version of the software, Proficy Historian 8.0, offers significant improvements that allow you to increase your safety, simplicity of use and the performance of the system, but above all it makes the connection to IIoT devices faster and simpler, essential in the era of Industry 4.0, thanks to the availability of a MQTT collector able to send data to Proficy Historian server or Predix Time Series.

With Proficy Historian 8.0 anyone can make pictures mini-appi.e. web-based applications that show plant data exactly the way you want to see it.

In this way, the user base able to take advantage of the information provided by the system is significantly expanded: a real "democratization" operation compared to the current paradigm, in which the design of systems is managed by a few experts.

Proficy Historian 8.0 also gives users the ability to analyze data in context and do advanced analysis of trends. Version 8.0 includes an Add-In Excel which allows users to query historical data based on the asset model, and offers the ability to develop applications without writing code.

To support operators working in mobility sectors, the generated interfaces are responsive and adapt to any type of device used to view them.

Great attention also to the safety: it is in fact possible to control the visibility of the data and distribute the functions of the application in a differentiated way (for example, read-only or read-and-write depending on the role).

Proficy Historian is also available in a version for Linux: A variant that can be installed on Edge Computing systems, thus offering the possibility to collect and store data on the device, or on IIoT devices and controllers.

Edge Computing beating heart of factory 4.0

The explosion of big data industrialists is increasingly pushing companies to look for new solutions that allow them not only to collect and aggregate this data, but also to process it in real time within the corporate perimeter.

Edge Computing
Edge Computing

If cloud computing solutions remain the choice of choice for processing heterogeneous and pre-filtered data that do not require an immediate response, edge computing is instead the right answer for processing the enormous amount of data generated by processes of production.

Edge computers, therefore, increasingly become the beating heart of the 4.0 factory. This is why it is necessary to focus on solutions specifically designed for use in an industrial environment, such as those with the Stratus brand proposed by ServiTecno.

ztC Edge is a platform for processing data in the field that is secure, easy and quick to configure and manage: a solution on which all business critical applications such as a SCADA such as iFIX or Historian databases.

The ztC Edge nodes are robust and specifically designed for use in industrial contexts, for "on the edge" installations.

They can be DIN rail mounted and be up and running in less than 30 minutes. I am simple to manage and can be used in a redundant configuration as well as hot swapping.

They are also continuously monitored by Stratus and automatically synchronize with running processes.

Thanks to the pre-installed virtualization software and the easy-to-use tools that allow you to intuitively perform all the configuration and management phases, ztC Edge reduces the commissioning times of critical applications, thus guaranteeing considerable savings in time and resources.

ztC Edge can manage the recovery of applications in multi-site contexts, improving flexibility and ensuring business continuity. The self-monitoring and self-protection capabilities of the ztC Edge make it an ideal solution for applications in unattended stations or remote locations where available computing resources are limited.
