The only solution for networked process data transfer with a closed firewall

The DataHub platform uses the DHTP protocol to make secure connections (outgoing only) from machines and plants to the enterprise network. This keeps all incoming firewall ports closed, supporting DMZ and proxy forwards, without using VPN to provide secure data flow from OT to IT.

KEY POINTS:

  • No dangerous exposure for the plant network: no VPNs means no extension of the plant safety network. It works perfectly within proximity networks, data proxies and DMZ servers.
  • No IT network disruption: Read-only options and non-intrusive connectivity ensure that the plant remains secure and functional, even if access to remote data is degraded or a remote location is compromised.
  • No access beyond the requested data: the plant decides which data to make available remotely.
  • No compromise on performance: real-time data is delivered to the microsecond (without influences related to network latency thanks to store&forward).
  • One-way or two-way data flow: Each connection can be configured as read-only or read-write, to support data monitoring or supervisory control.
Safe plant in the transfer to the cloud

The unique ability of the DataHub DHTP protocol to connect only out of the plant and an intervening DMZ can be leveraged to provide secure monitoring and supervisory control from the cloud.

  • Access plant data securely: using a DataHub instance inside a DMZ means not having any incoming firewall ports on the plant network or on the cloud. The DataHub instance on the plant network provides an outbound connection to the DMZ, and the DataHub instance on the DMZ uses an outbound MQTT connection to send data to the cloud.
  • One-way or two-way data flow: Each connection can be configured as read-only or read-write, to support data monitoring or supervisory control.
  • Easy connections to popular cloud services: Pre-configured support for Azure IoT Hubs, Google You and I Amazon IoT Cores. It also connects to any MQTT brokers like RabbitMQ or Mosquitto.
  • SkkyHub Connections: Full integration with SkkyNet's SkkyHub cloud service and IBRESS. Create plant-to-cloud and cloud-to-cloud connections.
