Forty years have passed since 1979 when ServiTecno was founded. Four decades during which there was the full maturation of the third industrial revolution, linked to the development of automation, telematics and electronics, and the advent of the fourth. Basically the equivalent of what normally happens in a couple of centuries.

Some historical images…

ServiTecno was born on the initiative of Enzo Maria Tieghi, part of a family of innovators who had already made a great contribution to the history of Italian technology: just think of the "Lowered level meter with graphic recorder for ship boilers" developed by Mario Tieghi in 1934 and today exhibited at the Museum of Science and Technology in Milan (together with other instruments created by the genius of Vittorio and Eraldo Tieghi).

In the early XNUMXs the company sold programmable color terminals from HMW, a small company near Munich, Germany: products that some Italian companies used as MMI (Man-machine interface) front-ends, an acronym which is evolved into HMI, for industrial applications.

But in these years the development of future SCADAs for the supervision of aqueducts, oil and gas pipelines, pumping stations and extraction platforms also began. The world of industry and utilities was beginning to understand the benefits of using PCs in an industrial environment.

In 1986 ServiTecno decided to bet on this trend, focusing on PC-based automation and software solutions for industry, signing an important agreement for the distribution in Italy of The FIX, the HMI software developed by Intellution, which later became iFIX, which, in 2002, will be acquired by General Electric and will become an integral part of the GE Digital offer.

Today ServiTecno counts among its customers some of the most important manufacturing companies operating in Italy, the main System Integrators and manufacturers of machinery and plants that export all over the world.

Over the years, the company has significantly enriched its expertise also thanks to the active participation in the activities of national and international bodies and institutions (ISA, ISPE, AFI, Clusit, Assintel, GISI, etc.). ServiTecno has expanded its partnership with GE Digital and has established collaborative relationships with numerous other companies including MDT AutoSave, a company specialized in producing software for Change Management and Configuration Management; IDUS AB , a Swedish company specializing in the creation of software for Plant Asset Management and CMMS, InVentia , a Polish company specializing in the creation of Telemetry/Remote Control solutions (GPRS, 3G, 4G), Stratus Technologies, high availability of automation systems, Ocean Data System , sophisticated analysis reporting with just a few clicks, WIN911 , alarm management via telephone and sms, e Nozomi Networks, one of the main players in the cyber security sector.

Today ServiTecno is an important partner of companies that intend to face the challenge of the fourth industrial revolution.
